No. Certainly if you do any exercise at all – even at a minimal level you will feel the benefit of a sports massage. It keeps your muscles supple and in good condition, increases blood flow to an area so helps with injury rehabilitation, promoting recovery and reducing inflammation.
Any aches, pains or stiffness associated with daily life can also benefit as the massage speeds up the removal of lactic acid from your system and breaking down any tension or knots in your muscles.
For personal training you should wear appropriate gym attire – jogging bottoms, leggings, shorts and comfortable t-shirt. Comfortable trainers should be worn.
For sports massage the affected area will need to be exposed so if it’s a massage on your legs, shorts are ideal – or loose wide-legged trousers. Women should wear a sports bra if the massage is on the torso or upper body.
